Owning A C35 Beechcraft Bonanza

Over the decades, the Beechcraft Bonanza 35-series models have undergone many changes. Some worked and some were reworked to make a better aircraft. The first model that truly defined the 35-series design was the C35. Produced between 1951 and 1952, the C35 was the first true inception of the modern Beechcraft Bonanza.

The C35 Bonanza was the first Beechcraft single engine aircraft to use an all-metal prop. This strengthened the C35 design and increased lift efficiency. The C35 also was the first model design with a larger chord and tail angle, which greatly stabilized the experience of Bonanza flight. These characteristic design features are still seen today in modern series Bonanzas.

In response to concerns about the Bonanza’s structural integrity, the C35 was the first Beechcraft single engine aircraft to have a heavier structure and thicker wing design.

While this reduced fuel efficiency in comparison to earlier models, the new C35  could handle a larger engine and deliver more power. As a result, the C35 came standard with a 205 horsepower E-185 engine. This also drove much more power to the all-metal prop.

When you buy a C35 Bonanza, you are truly purchasing a piece of general aviation history. While this aircraft can only fly around 152 maximum knots, the experience of flying the model that redefined general aviation history is remarkable.
