Beechcraft design is known for producing single-engine aircraft that lasts decades. In today’s general aviation market, you can find Beechcraft aircraft that’s over 50 years old still running perfectly.
The K35 Bonanza is no exception to this rule. Though the K35 Bonanza was manufactured in 1959, there are hundreds of these aircraft still on the market, flying as strong as ever.
The K35 was manufactured with the 250 horsepower IO-470-C engine. Most K35 aircraft you’ll find on the market today have since been upgraded with the 260 horsepower Continental IO-470-N engine.
The K35 is fuel-efficient, fits four passengers comfortably with an optional fifth seat and has a wide selection of Beech parts available for repair and maintenance.
The K35 is the perfect aircraft for those pilots who enjoy VFR operations instead of instrument flight. Though many K35 Bonanzas are upgraded with VORs and DMEs, the K35 is originally suited for VFR only. Accordingly, this makes the K35 a perfect trainer for pilots wanting to sharpen their VFR flying skills, such as new pilots.
Many K35 Bonanzas on the market will come with upgrades, although the starter pilot may have to drop several thousand dollars to customize their instrument display.
True to its form, the K35 Bonanza also comes with a trademark color scheme that many 1950s aircraft carry: beige, cream and brown. While some pilots find this very nostalgic, many choose to update their aircraft with more updated colors.
Such cosmetic changes can add a great deal of cost to your K35 Bonanza purchase, but definitely makes your purchase all the more your own!
