The sole proprietor of Mooney’s powerhouse history begins with the M20E aircraft, produced from 1964 to 1975. This aircraft became a powerhouse standard, equipped with a 200 horsepower engine that pushed general aviation to a whole new level of performance.

The M20E is a modified M20C with structural improvements and a much stronger engine. The standard 200 horsepower engine the M20E comes with delivers improved rate of climb and better performance modeling.

The cheaper price doesn’t mean the M20E can’t deliver. With the M20E’s small size, cabin space is sacrificed. This aircraft is not for a large family. Rather, it’s a sleek turbocharged sports car in the sky.

Many pilots prefer the newer M20F and M20G models because they offer more aerodynamically friendly operations. For the experienced pilot, the aerodynamic loading pressure is somewhat negligible.

The older M20E models do consume more gas than the newer M20G models. Most pilots flying the M20E are appreciating the history of early high performance general aviation. The M20E is the perfect addition to any older plane collection..
