What You Need To Know Before You Buy...
The Cessna 150 is one of the most popular aircrafts for it's class. If you have taken any flight training you probably have flown this aircraft. It is a pretty well know fact that this Cessna model is the most successful trainer in modern history.
Should You Buy A Cessna 150?
That is a great question! First of all, lets look at the performance and specifications of this aircraft. Under normal conditions, you will see a cruise speed of about 108 knots and climb at about 400 feet per minute.
That is pretty good considering it is a 2 seater. Also, keep in mind that the average Cessna 172 only cuisses at around 115 knots. So not much more then the little 150!
Now, if your going to buy one of these airplanes, the down side is you can't get a new one as they stopped production in 1977 after producing 22,138 models! Not bad for a little 2 seater. So your going to have to get a used one that is for sale. As well - in MOST cases, your going to be buying a used trainer. That is okay as long as it does not have to many hours on it.
What is the advantage of buying the 150?
A few things: First is reliability! They have been flying for over 50 years. Second is the fact that you can get parts fairly easy. And third is - they are VERY cheap to run and maintain.
