A Cessna 177 can be a great airplane to buy! It is a great in between airplane to the 172 and the 182. But how do you buy the best one that is available or even know what that is? I want to show you some insider secrets to buying the exact one that is right for you!
Secret #1:
Make sure you decide right away the extent you are going to use this aircraft! The reason is, you can get a RG model or a regular fixed gear model. You need to know if you want the retractable gear one because with that version you’re going to spend a bit more every year in servicing it and insurance.
Secret #2:
Look hard to find one that is up for sale that is under priced! Now this sounds easier then it is, but the reality is if you can find one that is under priced before you buy it then it means you have built in equity and when you go to sell it you’ll be able to get more money back or even make a profit if you do it right!
The biggest reason you want to pay attention to this is you might and will want to upgrade someday if you’re like most pilots. And if you buy the worst one that is cheap, you’re never going to be able to unload it! So get one that is under priced!
