Cessna 206

Does It Offer Better "Value" Then The Cessna 210?

The Cessna 206 first rolled off the assembly line in 1964, compared to 1957 for the 210. It was designed to be a "work horse" version of the 210. The biggest characteristic was the fact that it had fixed landing gear.

The 206 is apart of the 205, 206 & 207 family of Cessna aircrafts. All have a few differences, but the most popular model and the longest lasting one of them all is the 206.

Total production to date of the three mentioned above is well over 7,000. Currently, the 206 is still in production and is a very popular new aircraft to buy.

The 206 is a very popular commercial aircraft. They are commonly used in the north for hauling things in and out of remote areas as well as a short charter aircraft. They are very popular oversees & many missions organizations use them as well.

What makes them so popular is their performance specifications in relation to what they can do. The base 206 will cruise along at about 145 knots with a 300 hp engine. The other factor that makes them so popular is the fact that they have a cargo door setup where literally the whole side opens up.

If you take your 206 out of cargo hauling mode, you can fit 6 seats and all 6 of you can ride pretty comfortably.

The benefit of owning the 206 is it's versatility! You can use it on pretty much any landing strip, you can haul A LOT of cargo with it & it has the luxuries of a 210 (leather, roomy, exc). The other side benefit is the fact that you can get parts pretty much anywhere in the world. They have been around for so long and are so popular that it makes it easy to get parts.

If your in the market for a roomy 6 seater - checkout the 206!
