Is This The Best Plane In It's Class?
The Cessna 210 in a lot of ways is really in a league of its own. Sure you have the Beechcraft A36 & the Piper Saratoga along with it's sister aircraft - the Piper Malibu. BUT if your looking for a Used Cessna 210, your probably not going to find one of the others that are going to come close for the price.
The 210 came to market in 1957 and remained in production untill 1985 when Cessna ceeced making single engine aircraft.
Unfortiontally they never did bring it back into production in the 90's. It is really to bad as the competitors quickly dominated the market where the 210 left off.
But if your looking for a used single engine high performance aircraft, the 210 is for you! You can get a turbo charged version, a retractable version or a presurized version. The
P210R incorporated everything that the 210 had to offer - it carries a big price tag though... But worth it.
The 210 also came with known ice equipment & extended range fuel tanks. The options are almost unlimited with the 210. An interesting one is the fact that you can get a turbine engine upgrade on the after market. Ulthough it will cost you upwards of $500,000 or more, you'll add about 25 knots to your performance.
The only real downside about the 210 is the fact you can't get a new one. Other then that, it is a great airplane & probably the best in its class. Checkout the detailed performance specifications and you will find that you really get what you pay for!
