Piper Twin Comanche

This Piper Twin Origional Is Still A Great Buy...

The Twin Comanche is Pipers first small twin... When it rolled out of the factory in 1964 and since that time over 2,000 were produced. It was a welcomed addition to the single engine Comanche as it had more power and range.

The Twin Comanche is known for its effeciantcy as far as it's performance specifications go. It can hold up to 120 gallons of fuel, only burns 16 gph & can cruise at about 165 kts. Because of this many pilots will choose to go with a Comanche over other larger single engine aircraft like the Cessna 182 that have similar performance specifications.

That said, you still have a second engine that needs the same amount of maintaince as the first engine, so you have to factor that in. But if you can justify the added expenses of having a second engine the benefits can out weigh the costs. You now have 2 systems & 2 engines in the case of a failure and you have 2 times the power to get you to altitude or through rough weather.

With over 2,000 Twin Comanche's produced it makes it somewhat easy to find parts for them if you buy one. Also, there were thousands of single engine Comanche's made and most of the parts can be used as well.

Bottom line is, if your looking for an entry level twin engine aircraft then you really need to consider the Twin Comanche as it is a great time-tested aircraft that can serve you for a long time.
